Duels
How to play Cards Quest duels: hide three games, recognise your opponent’s in ten seconds, ranked mode, Elo and seasons.
The idea
- A duel pits two players against each other. Each one hides three games from their collection, and the other has to recognise them.
- Two modes: the classic duel, to play with friends or anyone with nothing at stake, and ranked mode, with Elo, ranks, coins and season rewards.
- Ranked mode unlocks after 5 finished classic duels.
Starting a duel
- Pick three cards from your collection, then open the duel to everyone or challenge a specific friend.
- You can have up to three open duels at a time.
Joining a duel
- In the list of open duels, pick one and hide three cards of your own.
The investigation
- For each game to find, you see its cover, blurry at first and sharper every second, and four options.
- You have 10 seconds and a single answer per game. The faster you answer, the more you score: 5 points in the first two seconds, then one less every two seconds.
- A wrong answer or running out of time: 0 points for that game.
- Once started, the investigation is played in one go: start it when you have a few minutes ahead of you.
The result
- When you have both handed in your investigation, the best score wins. In ranked mode, your Elo ratings are updated.
- In ranked mode, every duel pays coins: 30 for a win, 15 for a draw, 5 for a loss. Each win in a row adds 5 coins, up to +25. Your first 10 duels of the day are paid.
- In ranked mode, your Elo puts you in a rank, from Bronze to Legend. The gauge on the Duel page shows how far you are from the next one.
- Tip: little-known games are harder to recognise. What you hide matters as much as how fast you are.
The season
- Seasons only apply to ranked mode. A season lasts one month. You need at least three finished duels to enter the ranking.
- At the end of the season, ranked players win packs: 5 Legendary packs for first place, 3 for the podium, 1 for the top 10, and 2 Classic packs for every other ranked player. Rewards are claimed in the Ranked tab of the Duel page.
- Elo ratings go back to their starting value every new season.
